'Internet Detective' tutorial

Don't rely on the usual web sites. Go and look for something more appropriate. Fittable for your academic course.
Good academic published on the internet: Peer review / refereeing, Scholarly journals, Electronic journals, Library eJournal services, eJournal publishers, ePrints, Library web sites.
Bad sources it is time wasted. Because anyone can put something on the Internet, from anywhere in the World, they can say anything they like and leave it there as long as they like or change it without warning. Search engine such as Google cannot be reliable. They only cover a small portion, a lot of information is hidden or it doesn't appear to them.
There a lot of internet hoaxes which means fake web sites. Finally, the worst of all the Scams and frauds where they can steal your identity.
To make sure you don't make any mistakes always ask the questions who? (source of information) what? (content of information) where? (location of information).
Who- it is important to know who is providing the information.
What- think critically about the arguments.
Where- which part of the world this information is coming from.
Always be careful to not commit plagirism and give the correct reference.
*This web site is very good and it makes very easy to understand plagiarism and how to collect the right information/sources for you essay. It will help me a lot to not commit any stupid mistakes in the future.
